Sfaccettature

Sfaccettature looks at how many things a woman can be at once, without one cancelling another. Soft and hard in the same person. Sensual and guarded. Sure of herself one day, unsure the next. The series doesn't try to resolve that into one image, it stays with the multiplicity.

Each piece shows a different woman, a different facet. Together they read less like separate portraits and more like one figure seen from different angles, at different moments.

Soft pastel lets me move between emotional states without hard edges, one feeling shading into the next rather than being fixed. The line work stays intuitive, drawn without much planning, and that's what keeps the figures precise without making them rigid.
